The main features of The Bat !:
Security of personal information. A distinctive feature of TheBat! - the broadest support for authentication and encryption protocols when working with mail servers. The Bat! - one of the most secure email clients, "in service" of many companies, for which the protection of private information is a matter of life and death. The latest versions of The Bat! Equipped with smart security buttons that help make user information truly personal. The Bat! reliably protects your mail from system failures due to the possibility of backing up and synchronizing mail, as well as from deliberate corruption of data and leakage of confidential information when sending letters over the Internet. Secure CRAM-MD5 authentication prevents unauthorized users from gaining access to your account on the mail server.
Moreover, The Bat! offers various means of protecting mail from virus attacks:
Offline address book. The Bat! uses its own address book that is not associated with the Microsoft Windows Address Book. The Microsoft Windows Address Book, used by Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and others, is the main target of all virus attacks, as viruses extract email addresses from the Microsoft address book for further distribution.
Internal HTML viewer. The internal HTML viewer built into The Bat !, does not depend on the system HTML display module and on Microsoft Internet Explorer, which is used by Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and others. Built-in The Bat! supports HTML 4.0 hypertext language and CSS v2.0 document formatting styles, ignores scripts and executable code, which is the main cause of viruses. The Bat! HTML Viewer prevents viruses that exploit known HTML vulnerabilities from Microsoft Internet Explorer (IFRAME, Automatic Execution of Embedded MIME type, etc.) from entering your computer.
Correct work with attached files. The Bat! warns the user about possible viruses before attempting to open files with suspicious extensions; allows you to prevent the launch of certain types of files. Besides, the main advantage of The Bat! is that the user sees the actual extension of the attached files. The program does not hide the type of attached files from the user. If the attached file has a "double extension", for example, photo.jpg.exe, The Bat! will give the user an additional warning.
Selective download. Selective download allows you to delete a message or leave it on your POP3 / IMAP4 server without waiting for the message to download. Selective download filters can be used to combat viruses and unwanted ads.
Anti-virus scanners interface. The Bat! is able to scan attached files for viruses using an interface to known antivirus scanners. Supported by "Kaspersky Anti-Virus", Dr. Web, NOD32, Panda, Sophos, Bit Defender, "Ukrainian National Antivirus".
Virus protection. The second side of security is protection from malicious codes. Unlike other email programs, The Bat! does not run scripts automatically. The Bat! uses its own HTML viewer, its own image viewer, which protects you from viruses aimed at vulnerabilities of the operating system mechanisms. Among other things, The Bat! compatible with one of the leading antiviruses - Kaspersky Anti-Virus, the most powerful tool for combating malware. For Windows users, please be advised that, in addition to the above features, The Bat! In The Bat! 4. 0 (and later) has a built-in URL manager for background image extraction in HTML format. This manager successfully fights against malicious codes inserted into images.
Filtration. The built-in Mail Sorter is used to process correspondence, which automatically distributes incoming, outgoing, read and processed mail to the appropriate folders. Setting sorting rules will take just a few minutes, after which you can forget about manually moving letters from folder to folder forever.
Automatic message processing. The aforementioned Letter Sorter allows you to automate message processing: set up auto-reply, launch an external application, add recipients to your address book, export or archive messages, extract attached files and much more.
Templates. The Bat! not only can add a signature to the message, but also allows you to create letter templates using a great variety of special macros. Any mailbox, folder or recipient can have its own template for a new letter, reply or forward. Using templates can significantly speed up the preparation of mail, especially when the letter includes standard or frequently repeated text.
Quick templates. Quick templates allow you to automate the process of creating letters and save work time by inserting pre-typed text into the letter. If you have to answer the same questions in emails every day, you will appreciate these templates. A complete set of macros is available in quick templates, as well as in regular ones, allowing you to set any, even the most complex, sequence of actions.
Mailing lists. The mail filtering system is so powerful that it can be implemented using The Bat! a mailing list where members can add or remove themselves from the list themselves.
Unique parking function. With the help of parking, you can assign a letter to a specific folder and protect it from accidental deletion or movement. You will never lose an important letter if you park it in a suitable folder.
Backup. All program settings, address books and mail folders can be saved in a separate file and then restored from a backup copy in case of unwanted information changes or data loss. The archive can be provided with a comment and password protected. Moreover, The Bat! allows you to create a separate backup for each mailbox.
